inter*ARCHITECTURE is an architectural design studio that was founded on the belief that architecture is not an isolated discipline but rather connected to a wide range of professional fields.  As such, the studio draws inspiration from a network of ideas, people, experiences and places to create and implement design solutions.

As an architectural design studio, inter*ARCHITECTURE is dedicated to the exploration and implementation of contemporary architectural expression through architectural design, design/build projects and community involvement.

Background:
inter*ARCHITECTURE was co-founded by Jennifer Lucchino and Freddie Croce in 2003 motivated by a desire to seek opportunities to proactively create projects.  Combining our interest in and knowledge of design and construction, we believe that Pittsburgh and surrounding communities present a unique opportunity to implement new ideas in architecture and design to positively impact where and how people live and work.

Collectively, we draw inspiration from our unique work and travel experiences – Freddie is from San Diego, CA where he worked in landscape architecture and construction and Jennifer studied liberal arts and languages in Washington, DC, Paris, France and Italy before attending architecture school in Houston, TX – to inform our projects.

Freddie Croce, RA, Principal and Co-Founder

With a diverse background in Planning, Landscape Architecture and Construction, combined with active participation in community organizations, higher education and arts projects, Freddie Croce is inspired and committed to enriching people’s lives through the built environment, defining space by understanding materials, form and nature in three dimensional composition.

The knowledge and experience gained from working for firms such as Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, Spurlock Poirier Landscape Architects and the design/build firm Public has contributed to Freddie’s current role as principal of inter*ARCHITECTURE.  From large projects with a national presence like the Getty Center Central Garden and the South Campus Plan at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, including the cutting edge Biotechnology Research Facility, to modest urban projects such as NuRelm and Scanga renovations, his design sensibilities matured
